• Australian Governments have developed legislation in each State and Territory governing the conduct of fundraising. Under the Fundraising Acts, anyone wishing to raise money for charitable purposes must hold an authority to fundraise issued by that organisation. So, before you get started fundraising, GIVIT will need to issue you an Authority to Fundraise letter. Upon completion of this registration form we will be in contact to provide you with an Authority to Fundraise letter. Please note you cannot start fundraising until a letter of authority has been issued by GIVIT.
• There may be legal issues to consider in relation to your fundraising appeal or event. It’s your responsibility to make sure your event complies with the law, however we're here to help you wherever possible!
• Unfortunately GIVIT’s public liability insurance will not cover any physical event you may host. If you are planning to run an event, please contact the correct insurance providers to arrange this.
• Management of the event is your responsibility. Due to resource limitations it's unlikely that GIVIT staff and volunteers can help with prizes, media or publicity, but please contact us to discuss what support we can provide.
